Karen Billes

Karen grew up on a horse farm in Barrie, Ontario. Her family became involved in eventing when she was just one year old. Karen worked her way through the junior hunter/jumper ranks, earning many accolades in her young career. She finished in the top twenty in the AHSA equitation finals and routinely placed in the top three in Canadian equitation finals. She was on the Ontario team for the North American young riders on three different occasions, receiving two bronze and one gold medal. The pursuit of a university education prevented her from being fully committed to the horse sport, but she successfully managed to balance her school life and riding. Karen attended York University and graduated with a specialized honours degree in Kinesiology. While finishing her degree, Karen traveled to Virginia to train with an American professional for 3 years. It was here that she rode in her first Grand Prix. Soon after, Karen decided to pursue her dream of living on her own farm and the plans for Wolfstone Farms became reality.

Our Farm

Karen set out to build her dream in Caledon, Ontario in the year 2000. Leaving her previous career aside, Karen decided to pursue her dream of having horses on her own property. The barn was built attached to their house so she could always be near her pride and joy, the horses.

In total, Wolfstone Farms has eighteen horses. They are a mixture of everything… geldings, stallions, mares, broodmares, colts, weanlings and one pony. All of the horses are exceptional in looks and behavior.

Karen has two full time staff members who work six days a week and one part time staff for weekends. Wolfstone's Barn Manager oversees the entire operation. The horses are handled with the utmost respect and are cared for by all of these people in their daily environment.

Wolfstone Farms combines knowledge, understanding and passion to train and handle all the horses (especially the stallions) with the utmost respect. Karen and her staff's love that they have for these animals and the sport of horses, gives them the ability to best match horse and rider. Wolfstone Farms has also been extremely successful in matching both mares and stallions to produce high quality babies in all aspects.

Wolfstone's indoor riding arena ensures the outside elements never interfere with the year round riding and training programs.
